Overview
It is a common sight at commercial season parking areas that vehicles queue and wait for their turn to enter a car park. Traditionally, this has been done through several methods. One of the more common method is the use of a short range card that needs to be scanned at entry and exit. The user needs to stop the car fully, open the window, touch the card to the reader, close the window and then drive into the car park. The cycle time for each car is long and inefficient. 1. Handsfree accesss
By placing the TagMaster RFID tag on the windshield, the driver can fully focus on the task of driving. The long range reading feature by TagMaster RFID readers enables tags to be read at distances of up to 14m, thus making it suitable
for a variety of traffic and installation type.
TagMaster’s ANPR cameras are also able to accurately capture license plate in a variety of environments thus making it a low cost installation suitable for large car parks.
2. Increased throughput at entrances/exits
As vehicles do not have to come to a full stop at the barriers, the time each driver spends at the barrier is shortened. This improves driver experience and also results in shorter waits at entrances and exits. Cycle time is improved dramatically as the vehicle does not have to stop. This also improves environmental conditions in the car park as drivers do not have to get a vehicle moving again from a full stop.
3. More in depth data reporting
JMS software can be integrated with TagMaster RFID readers or ANPR cameras. The software allows for advance control of parking bays as well as in depth reporting of vehicle entry, exit time and dwell time within the car park.
4. Overstay function
The JMS software also has an overstay function which allows operators to collect payment if customers have overstayed their complimentary parking time. For example, if each customer is only allowed 30 minutes complimentary parking, operators can charge them based on additional time spent. This applies as well to season parking who use the parking bays outside of allocated hours.
