We are excited about this important step in our growth strategy and we will together with CA Traffic become a stronger player in the Traffic Solutions market. Following this acquisition we will continue to establish ourselves as an important player in Smart City solutions. There are clear and immediate synergies between CA Traffic and CitySync on the ANPR/ALPR offering. With the combined expertise at CA Traffic and CitySync we believe we have an excellent opportunity to become one of the main players in the fast growing international ANPR/ALPR market. We will also take full advantage of CA Traffic’s technical expertise in traffic monitoring products starting with our Nordic and French home markets. Through the acquisition we will also in the mid-term be able to increase our presence in a growing US infrastructure market.
Commenting on the acquisition, Bernard Greene, CA Traffic MD, said “We have been working with CitySync for some years and are now very pleased to be joining the TagMaster group. We recognise and welcome the strength that the union will bring to both brands and the synergies that are immediately apparent with the other TagMaster companies.”
TagMaster North America, Inc., deployed 2.45 GHz microwave LR-series readers for employee parking at Montréal- Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau International Airport (YUL).
70 Long-Range TagMaster LR-series readers have been seamlessly installed with 15,000 S1240 MarkTag MeM. Each tag offers a unique ID number that cannot be replicated and allows tighter parking controls to be realized. The web-based configuration of the readers allows for the installation to be quick and efficient; ultimately providing YUL with a low Total Cost of Ownership and smoother parking operations for employees. Carbon emissions from vehicles gaining access are greatly reduced while throughput speeds are increased and security is highly maintained. Through TagMaster RFID Systems, YUL greatly benefits from tighter security oversight for all employee parking lots.
With average daily temperatures during the winter dropping to -32 degrees Celsius, the airport requires consistent and stable performance in inclement weather without impact to parking controls. After installing TagMaster’s versatile readers, parking operations have been streamlined and allow airport employees to safely gain access while adding a high level of convenience.
The capability of Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) enables the TagMaster LR Readers to be deployed in a highly complex frequency environment without interference to airport communications or emergency responders. The adjustability for programming and controlling the frequencies associated with communications at the airport is essential. TagMaster integration of SKIDATA parking control access equipment provides reliable tag reads on the first attempt, eliminating delays and errors.
Ali Khaksar, President of TagMaster North America noted, “The effortless implementation of TagMaster long range RFID readers saves valuable time while providing scalable solutions for complex airport installations needing innovative and cost effective solutions for parking applications “.

Exclusive Community in Southern Florida Deploys TagMaster RFID System for Resident Gate Entry Control
Our Partner, TagMaster North America, Inc. deployed long range RFID solutions for resident gate entry control for a gated community in Southern Florida. The community required a secure and convenient form of vehicle access control for residents, without compromising security.
The community chose TagMaster RFID systems to provide their residents with a highly secure and accurate means of allowing reliable vehicle access. The need for consistent and reliable performance was paramount as security could not be compromised as with key fobs or proximity systems that allow for the fobs or tags to be shared between vehicles. By installing TagMasters’ UHF windshield sticker tags, a permanent bond between the vehicle and tag is maintained. The result for the community is that only authorized vehicles with the correct tags are logged into the access control database and allowed entry. If the tags are removed, the RFID inlay is destroyed rendering the tag unusable. This solution is the preferred method of resident vehicle entry for countless communities across the country as it is reliable, secure and cost effective.
Florida Door Control installed TagMasters’ robust UHF RFID Reader in conjunction with the Windshield Sticker Tags to allow for quick, hands-free vehicle access for residents and other authorized vendors for the community. The Long-Range UHF Reader identifies a vehicle’s TagMaster RFID Tag at a distance of up to 25 feet as it approaches the entrance, logs the authorized credential and triggers the gate to open for valid tags while denying access to anyone not permitted at the community. With the extended reading ranges which are highly adjustable, optimal mounting for the RFID reader is realized and the effects of vehicle tail gaiting are minimized.
“A gated community can increase residents’ perception of security and drastically improve home values, but not at the expense of an ineffective or inefficient entry/exit system, Ali Khaksar, President of TagMaster North America Inc, noted; “TagMaster’s RFID can make gated communities and condominiums more secure, convenient, and reliable.”

Stand Alone Access Control
Our UHF TagMaster XT-1 and XT Mini reader has a build in access control which can be activated without any additional external software.
The reader has a built-in access controller that can control a barrier or gate using the reader’s relay output. This can be done without any additional external software and can be operated easily by the end users.
All accesses can be logged. A presence indicator such as an inductive loop can be connected to an input. To use the access controller or log, a microSD card must be inserted into the microSD memory card slot, all data is logged on the microSD card, the data can then be “used” in an SQL or Excel file by simply extracting the microcard and inserting the microcard in a PC.
The built in access controller can be easily configured using the built in web-interface.
Open Supervised Device Protocol, OSDP
TagMaster now offers 128 bit AES encryption from ‘tag to reader’ and from ‘reader to host system’ for Vigilant-based readers. This is supported by both EPC Gen2v2 and OSDP. OSDP is a modern alternative to Wiegand interface for communication between access control equipment. OSDP offers major improvement in maximum data size, and has bidirectional communication and encryption support. TagMaster is the first company to offer full OSDP support for long range RFID.
ANPR camera CitySync 50 now available to purchase

As car use increases, so does the need to park the vehicles when they are not in use. It is estimated that cars are parked 95% of the time, so managing this is key in both the commercial and public sectors. In free flow parking environments, you need the best quality ANPR to catch vehicles entering at higher speeds and to cope with wider access points and steeper angles. CitySync’s parking solution is perfect for this and provides the following benefits:
1. Avoid misuse of the parking area
2. Generate revenue
3. Increase site security
4. Quick and easy installation
The CitySync Free Flow Parking System is therefore perfect for shopping centres, retail parks, motorway service stations and restaurants.
CitySync utilises its CitySync 50 all-in-one cameras to capture vehicles entering and exiting the car park. A single camera can capture plates passing through a wide entrance from up to 25m away. All processing is done on-board and event data, including a high resolution overview image, is passed onto a JetParking server which compares arrival and departure times.

The CitySync 50 is following the launch end of last year of the CitySync 30 and shows our commitment to innovation”
A TagMaster innovation – An advanced feature
SecureMarkID® is security extensions using EPC Gen2/ ISO18000-63. It has been developed and registered by TagMaster and offers an outstanding ease-of-use while still offering a medium security level based on cryptographic functions. While EPC Gen2/ISO18000-63 systems traditionally have been using either the EPC field for identity (which can easily be illicitly copied) or the TID field (which is too long to be used in all access control systems without truncation and therefore is difficult to administrate), SecureMarkID® offers a solution to both these problems.
Easy to deploy and administrate Each tag has a readable identity printed on the tag to make administration and deployment easy. This identity comes in a sequence with consecutive running numbers. This identity is short enough to be sent to an access control system using most available Wiegand formats without truncation. It prevents illicit duplication of tags by using cryptographic functions. This security level is suitable for instance in long range vehicle access control applications. TagMaster also offers more advanced security options at higher security levels, but this will require more handling during installation and administration, see Data Sheet for ‘EPC Gen2 v2 Security’.
TagMaster, has signed a Letter of Intent to acquire Balogh group in France.
Balogh is a well-known RFID specialist which have been a technical pioneer within this industry since it was founded 1958. Balogh has offices for R&D and production in Paris, Toulouse and Normandy and is working towards the three RFID segments of rail, access/security and industrial.
Balogh S.A. and Balogh Normandie is in receivership (Redressement Judiciaire) since May 2015 and the parties will jointly submit a “continuation plan” which will be subject for approval by the court in Paris (Tribunal de Commerce de Paris), the approval is expected to take place in June and the acquisition is conditioned by the approval. The revenue of Balogh is approx. 3,5 M€ and 35 people are employed.
“TagMaster is excited taking this next step in our growth strategy and will together with Balogh become a stronger player within both Rail and Traffic Solutions and continue to build a relevant position as technology provider towards Smart Cities. We will use this opportunity to create a center of excellence for our Rail Solutions in France merging our French and Swedish knowhow, enlarging our product offering towards the major players with rail signaling and being able to take on larger projects. Within Traffic Solutions we will merge our product ranges resulting in fewer products, with larger volumes, and we will get access to more geographical areas and become stronger in France and other south European countries. We will also start selling our CitySync range of products through Baloghs sales channels“ says Jonas Svensson, CEO, TagMaster
Article April 2016 issue Railway Gazette International
Testing of the Thales SelTrac IS Radio CBTC to be deployed on four London Underground routes is now underway. The Sub-Surface Upgrade is an essential part of Transport for London’s efforts to cope with increased ridership as the capital’s population grows by a projected 1·2 million over the next 15 years. The four lines are currently carrying 1·3 million passengers a day, and the introduction of longer trains operating under attended ATO (GoA2) is expected to increase peak capacity by 33%, as well as shortening journey times. “This is probably the most complex metro resignalling project in the world”, believes Stuart Harvey, Systems Programme Director at LU’s Capital Programmes Directorate.
Primary train location is achieved using passive RFID transponders from TagMaster, which are positioned in the track at approximately 25 m intervals, or more frequently in station areas. These provide the train with information about its absolute location and the position of the following tag. Each train reports its position back to the VCC, allowing the SMC to update its scheduling decisions accordingly. As well as the tag readers, the trains will each have four tachometers and an accelerometer.
