These TagMaster Heavy Duty (HD) Readers will be mounted onboard the trains and provide both train location and accurate positioning information to the BOMBARDIER CITYFLO 650 CBTC (communication-based train control) onboard system being supplied. The CITYFLO 650 solution also benefits from the TagMaster Accurate Positioning software functionality, which is used by the onboard system to accurately calibrate the train’s position along the track. The accuracy of the RFID system is particularly important where the train has to be stopped at a precise position to align with the platform. The project also uses the TagMaster Field Programmable version of the HD Tag, which allows Bombardier to program the tag location information in the field, as needed by the site installation team.
“We are again pleased to confirm TagMaster as our RFID solution provided for another major project in Asia. The TagMaster solution is an important element of the advanced CBTC system that Bombardier is supplying” says Jeff Stover, Director of Signalling Engineering at the Pittsburgh USA site of Bombardier Transportation’s Rail Control Solutions Division.
“This is one of several metro projects in Asia where we have supplied equipment for Bombardier and we are very pleased to be a part of this growing market. Bombardier has again selected to use the TagMaster RFID solution together with their CITYFLO 650 mass transit solution. This installation will help continue our success in Asia, where we are working together with Bombardier and our local partners to expand this fast developing market.” says Richard Holt, Director Transportation at TagMaster AB.
