Press release, Stockholm, Sweden July 29, 2020
TagMaster, the leading supplier of advanced sensor systems for Smart Cities within Traffic and Rail, has through its US subsidiary Sensys Networks Inc. received an order regarding enhanced functionality of the German capital Berlin’s traffic management system. The order concerns to equip numerous intersections with advanced stopbar and detection technology. The order is the first for Sensys Networks on the German market.
The wide-scale deployment of Sensys Networks’ FlexMag and FlexRadar technologies comes as a result of a series of successful trials at multiple locations throughout Berlin. With a dense network of tram lines and bicycle paths across the city, the FlexRadar sensor was the critical component for Berlin’s traffic authority. Because this in-ground radar technology is immune to electromagnetic interference, it enables the accurate detection of bicycles in the presence of trams.
“With the intricate maze of tram, bicycle and automobile traffic in Berlin, it’s critical to have accurate detection enabling their intelligent traffic solutions. Also, Berlin gets the high quality data required by modern traffic management systems, and can do it in considerably less time and a lower cost” said Jonas Svensson, CEO, TagMaster.
Berlin’s general contractor, Alliander, has taken the lead to determine and to select the sites for these smart intersection installations. Assisting with implementation are Siemens, Swarco, Stuehrenberg, Spie and AVT Stoye.
